What’s the lead time?
Standard lead time is 2–4 weeks. This is confirmed at the time of order.
What’s the fire rating of the SOFTSHUTTER®?
The Balco SOFTSHUTTER® i is tested to a standard of Crib 7 BS5852. This applies to upholstery, as no testing currently exists for this type of product.
How do you clean the SOFTSHUTTER®?
The GREENGUARD vinyl makes it easy to clean with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge (to protect the print design). If disinfection is required, use diluted chlorine products at 1000ppm chlorine
Are the materials used non-allergenic?
Yes, the vinyl has a GREENGUARD certification. The inks contain no HAPs (hazardous air pollutants) or sensitisers, have no VOCs, require no special handling, are non-toxic, and the synthetic polymers in the inks are non-allergenic.
What is the product warranty?
We provide a warranty on our products for a period of 24 months from delivery. The products shall be free from material defects in design, material & workmanship. However, this warranty does not apply to any defect in the product arising from circumstances described in clause 10.2 of the Balco Terms & Conditions.
What happens if the SOFTSHUTTER® catches fire?
The SOFTSHUTTER® iis certified to a Crib 7 BS5852 rating. When the source of the fire is removed, the SOFTSHUTTER® is self-extinguishing.
Can the SOFTSHUTTER® be used in a wet room?
Yes, all seams on the SOFTSHUTTER® are welded to protect the internals from absorbing moisture.
How does the SOFTSHUTTER® attach?
The SOFTSHUTTER® uses short-range magnetic force. The SOFTSHUTTER® hinges consist of magnets, which are welded and stitched, creating a tamper-resistant pocket. Hinges attach directly to a standard metal window frame or to separately provided discreet hinge plates.
